The challenge
Valentine Equipment was moving into a new building. The move had to happen with minimal disruption to the business, which relies on its server, PCs and IP equipment being up and running from day one. The new premises also needed a network designed for how the business works today: reliable wired connections, Wi-Fi coverage across the building, and security cameras to protect the site.
What we did
New network infrastructure
We designed and installed a new network infrastructure for the building, giving the business a clean, structured and documented setup from the start rather than inheriting someone else’s cabling.
UniFi switching and Wi-Fi
We supplied and installed new Ubiquiti UniFi switches with Power over Ethernet (PoE), along with UniFi PoE Wi-Fi access points positioned for coverage throughout the building. PoE means the access points and cameras are powered over the network cable, with no extra power points to install. The whole network is managed from a single UniFi dashboard, which makes monitoring, changes and troubleshooting quick and straightforward.
Hikvision CCTV
We supplied and installed a Hikvision CCTV system with five cameras covering key areas of the site. The cameras run over the new PoE network, so footage is recorded centrally and can be viewed securely.
Relocating critical equipment
We carefully decommissioned, moved and reinstalled the company’s critical IP equipment, server and PCs. Everything was reconnected to the new network and tested so that staff could get straight back to work in the new building.
The result
- A modern, reliable network in the new building, designed to grow with the business.
- Strong Wi-Fi coverage across the premises.
- Five-camera CCTV protecting the site.
- Server, PCs and IP equipment relocated and working with minimal disruption.
- One point of contact for the whole project, from planning through to handover.
